How we work

We Build. You Manage. We Care.

Every website is designed around the content management system and hosting platform of your choice. We build it, test it, launch it, and then teach you to run it — with support whenever you want it.

What is a content management system (CMS)?

A CMS is the dashboard you use to update your website without touching code. You log in, edit text, swap photos, add an event, a blog post, or a sermon, and publish. The design, layout, and technical setup stay exactly as we built them, so updates never break the site.

Your platform, your choice

We design every website around the CMS and hosting platform you prefer. If your team already knows a system, we build for it. If you don’t have a preference, here’s what we recommend and why.

Recommended hosting

Cloudflare

Cloudflare runs one of the largest networks in the world, with data centers in more than 300 cities. Your pages are served from the location closest to each visitor, so they load fast wherever people find you.

  • Automatic HTTPS on every page
  • Built-in protection against attacks and bot traffic
  • Fast, reliable delivery worldwide
  • Domains through Cloudflare Registrar at cost — no markup on registration or renewal
  • The same platform this site runs on — 99–100 on Google PageSpeed Insights

Astro + a content editor

Astro is a modern website framework that turns your site into fast, lightweight pages with little or no extra code for the browser to load. We pair it with a Git-based CMS, so you get a simple editing dashboard on top of a site that stays fast and secure.

  • Fast pages that help search rankings
  • Fewer moving parts to patch or break
  • An editing dashboard made for non-technical users
  • Built for Cloudflare hosting

Independent recommendations. StandWatch Digital is not an affiliate or partner of Cloudflare, Astro, or any other product or service we recommend. We receive no commissions, referral fees, or other financial benefit from these recommendations. Our only compensation comes from the projects our clients hire us for.

From first call to handoff

  1. Plan & quoteA discovery call, then a written plan, timeline, and price before any work starts.
  2. BuildYour site is built in a private GitHub repository — one central, secure home for its code.
  3. Review it live before it goes publicBefore your site launches, I build a private working preview on a separate development site. You get a link to click through every page on your phone and computer, just as visitors will. You approve fonts and colors first, then review the live preview and request changes. Nothing goes public until you say it’s ready. Read how you review your website before launch.
  4. Test & final approvalEvery form, page, and link is checked against our launch checklist, then you give final approval.
  5. DeploymentYour site goes live, and your code repository is transferred to you.
  6. 30 days of editsFor 30 days after deployment, we make up to two rounds of content changes to the approved site and fix anything that isn’t working as approved.
  7. CMS setup & trainingWe set up the CMS of your choice and walk you through every stage, so you can manage your own content.
  8. You manage — we careYou run your content. Add a care plan if you’d like us to handle updates and monitoring. Major changes are quoted separately.

Your code, in one secure place

Your website’s code lives in a private GitHub repository, not on our computers. During the build, the repository stays private; after your final approval and full deployment, it’s transferred to you. Fees for repository setup and GitHub deployment are included in your written quote. Remnant copies of project files may remain on StandWatch Digital computers, drives, or other digital media for up to 5 years after your last service request.

Questions

What is a CMS?

A content management system is the dashboard you use to update your website without touching code — edit text, swap photos, and add events, posts, or sermons, then publish.

Which CMS and hosting platform do you use?

The one you choose. We design around the CMS and hosting you prefer. If you don’t have a preference, we recommend Cloudflare for hosting and Astro paired with a Git-based CMS.

Will I be able to update the site myself?

Yes. After the 30-day edit period, we set up your CMS and walk you through each step so you can manage your own content.

What’s included after launch?

For 30 days after deployment, we make up to two rounds of content changes to the approved site and fix anything that isn’t working as approved. After that, you manage content through your CMS, add a care plan if you want ongoing help, and major changes are quoted separately.

Where is my website’s code kept?

In a private GitHub repository, not on StandWatch Digital computers. It’s transferred to you after final approval and full deployment. Repository setup and GitHub deployment fees are included in your quote.

Do you get paid for recommending Cloudflare or Astro?

No. We aren’t affiliates or partners of Cloudflare, Astro, or any other product we recommend, and we receive no commissions or referral fees. We recommend them because they work well for our clients. Our only compensation comes from the projects you hire us for.

Do you keep copies of my site?

Remnant copies of project files may remain on our computers, drives, or other digital media for up to 5 years after your last service request.
