A new home for a radically inclusive ministry

We rebuilt Establishing the Kingdom, International’s website from scratch so visitors could find the ministry’s message, hear its teachings, and get in touch — without fighting the old site. Live September 2026.

The ministry

Establishing the Kingdom, International is an affirming, radically inclusive ministry based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, led by Pastor Mike Williams. Its work carries the Gospel of Inclusion, grounded in the movement founded by Bishop Carlton D. Pearson, to churches and interfaith communities. The site needed to meet people who are questioning what they were taught — including people hurt by religion — with a clear invitation instead of a maze of old pages.

Before and after

Before · September 28

A WordPress/Divi site that left little room to explain the ministry. The homepage opened with full-screen photos and an embedded reel, with no written pitch or clear next step. Upcoming events were a single image, and on phones the Shop page ran far off the screen.

After · September 29

A homepage that names the mission, dedicated teaching and invitation paths, phone-friendly layouts, clean page addresses, and a working sitemap on the live domain.

What we measured on the old site

Homepage
Two background photos totaling about 4.5 MB; no main heading or written pitch
Event itinerary
One 2.3 MB image, not searchable text
Shop on a phone
About 870 px wide on a 390 px screen
Search setup
No page descriptions, canonical addresses blocked by robots.txt, and a sitemap address that didn’t return a sitemap

Measured on the former live site, September 28, 2026. The old site had five published pages.

What we built

  1. A message-led homeThe homepage names Establishing the Kingdom, International as an affirming, radically inclusive ministry, states its purpose, and points visitors to a teaching or an invitation.
  2. A path to the messageAbout explains the ministry’s lineage. Teachings puts full messages and short clips where visitors can hear the work for themselves.
  3. Clear ways to connectContact gives visitors a place to ask questions. Invite gathers the details from churches and communities that want to bring the message to an event.
  4. A cleaner foundationA custom Astro build on Cloudflare replaces the old WordPress/Divi site, with clean page addresses, correct canonical tags, a title and description for every page, a real XML sitemap, and layouts built for phones.

Decisions we made, and why

Ministry first
Mike’s author site already gives the books their own home, so this site leads with the ministry’s message, teachings, and invitations. Visitors can still reach the books, but the two sites do different jobs.
Teachings beside the invitation
Putting teaching clips next to a clear invitation lets a new visitor listen before deciding to reach out.
Words, not images of words
The ministry’s message is real, readable page text in a phone-first layout, so it’s easier to read, share, and find in search.
A focused launch
The old image-based itinerary was not carried over as an event calendar in this launch.

The result

The new establishingthekingdom.org went live by September 29, 2026. Its main pages now tell visitors what the ministry is, offer a way to hear the message, and give churches a route to invite the ministry. The live site carries the credit “Powered by StandWatch Digital Web Design.”
